Big Spring moved to 4-0 in tournament play this season, upending James Buchanan for the second time in less than 10 days to win the Big Spring Holiday Classic Tournament.

Saturday's 65-46 win gives the Bulldogs consecutive tournament championships this season, with the first at Biglerville's tip-off tournament.

Sophomore Gavin Pritchard followed up Friday's near double-double with a career-high 19 points. He again nearly had a double-double, adding eight rebounds and three blocks in an impressive performance.

Only Peyton Bechtold, who finished with 20 points, outscored Pritchard on the day. Pritchard had three 3-pointers as well.

"Our guys handled the press very, very well tonight," Big Spring coach Jason Creek texted The Sentinel. "Guys stepped up and made plays. This tournament championship was a big step for our program."

Bechtold was named the tournament MVP, while Pritchard picked up All-Tournament Team honors. The win puts Big Spring (4-3) back above .500 for the first time since the first weeks of the season.

  • Balanced scoring was not enough for Cedar Cliff, which dropped a 48-46 decision to Greencastle-Antrim in the East Pennsboro Lions Club Holiday Tournament championship game. Gerald Jarmon III finished with 11 points in the loss. G-A got 13 from Brandon Shuler.
  • East Pennsboro fell 57-55 to Donegal in the consolation game despite 18 points from Braden Fries and 13 from Nik Karoly.
  • West Perry won the PeCo Tournament championship with a 51-34 win over Newport. Josh Rudy led the way with 17 points.
