Cumberland Valley approved David Vespignani as the new boys basketball coach for the 2018-19 season, according to Monday night's school board agenda and a tweet from Vespignani after he was approved.

Vespignani, who served this past season on the Cedar Cliff coaching staff under Tigh Savercool, will also change teaching jobs. He has taught at West Shore School District and was hired by CV as a life skills teacher. He will make $7,750 as coach.

He replaces Eric Richardson, who did not return as coach after one season after he replaced Mike Hibbs. The reason for Richardson's departure has not been released by him or the athletic department.
The Eagles went 9-13 (6-8 Commonwealth) with a roster that was without a single starter from the previous season.
