Carlisle’s Noah Affolder reacts just before crossing the finish line to win the PIAA Class 3A Boys Cross Country Championship held Saturday at Parkview Cross Country Course in Hershey.

Matthew O’Haren, For The Sentinel

Every Monday night for the rest of the high school year, our sports staff will name a Sentinel Athlete of the Week featuring one area athlete who stood out on the field.

This week is Carlisle senior cross country runner Noah Affolder. Affolder and the rest of the Thundering Herd took home second place in the PIAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday.

And while that’s impressive in itself, Affolder individually beat out hundreds of other runners to claim the championship in the Class 3A race with a time of 15:33.
