SHIPPENSBURG — Students in Shippensburg University’s Department of Music and Theatre Arts will stage the two-act play “Act A Lady” Wednesday, Nov. 6, to Sunday, Nov. 10, in Memorial Auditorium.

Performances will be offered at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 6-9, and at 2 p.m. Nov. 10. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Seating is limited.

Written by Jordan Harrison, the play was originally produced by the Humana Festival of New Plays in 2006. It depicts a small, rural community during the Prohibition era and uses a community theater production as an opportunity to examine gender identity and explore how we learn to “act” our gender.
