For most of us, our first experience in this world occurred in a hospital when a doctor’s caring hands gently placed us into our mother’s arms for the first time.
Throughout our lives, hospitals and the compassionate people who staff them are available day and night, every day of the year, to care for us during our most trying as well as rewarding times; when we are bringing new life into the world, when we are ill, when we get well, when accidents happen, and when we are ending our journeys.
Hospitals play many important roles in the community. They are often among the largest employers, providing career opportunities and helping the local economy. They offer a clinical setting to educate students and help train the caregivers of tomorrow. They share health and wellness information to help keep you healthy, and they provide compassionate and professional medical care to you and your loved ones.
At Geisinger, we’re proud that hospitals are always there to serve the community as beacons of care. And during National Hospital Week, May 6-12, please join us in thanking the legions of incredible people who dedicate their lives to making hospital care available to you whenever you need it most.
