John F. Marchi, 68, of South Middleton
Township, died Tuesday, June 10, 1997 at Hershey Medical
Born July 4, 1928 in Braddock, he was a son of the late Marino and
Amelia Leverotti Marchi.
Mr. Marchi, a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, was retired
from the U.S. Air Force as a senior master sergeant. He was a
self-employed vocational and rehabilitation counselor.
He attended Carlisle Barracks Chapel and was senior vice commander
of the VFW in Boiling Springs. He was a member of Boiling Springs
Investment Club; Mt. Holly Springs Lions Club; National
Rehabilitation Counseling Association; National Rehabilitation
Association; American Board of Vocational Experts; International
Rehabilitation Institute; Non-Commissioned Officers Association;
Air Force Sergeants Association; Retired Enlisted Association; and
the New York Academy of Sciences.
He graduated from St. Mary's University, San Antonio, Texas, with a

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in
the Carlisle Barracks Chapel with the Rev. Andrew Fontenelli as
celebrant. Burial with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap

Darlene M. Rohm, 48, formerly of RD 1,
Loysville, Perry County, died Tuesday, June 10, 1997 in Swaim
Health Center, West Pennsboro Township.
Born Feb. 20, 1949 in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late
Kenneth G. and Margaret C. Frysinger Rohm.
She was a 1969 graduate of West Perry High School and attended
Penns Creek Bible College in Lewistown. She was associated with the
Brethren in Christ Church, Ickesburg.
Surviving are three brothers, Keneth G. Jr. of Bluefield, W.Va.,
Edward E. of RD 1, Landisburg, and Franklin S. of Dillsburg; two
sisters, Sandra M. Eklund, of Lewisberry and Jeanette L. Smith of
Shermans Dale; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Ewing Brothers
Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. James R.

He died Sunday, June 8, 1997 at his home.
Born Jan. 15, 1948 in Huntington, he was the son of Rose Mascarra
Smith of Panama City, Fla. and the late Eugene C. Smith Sr.
Mr. Smith was a truck driver for Roadway.
He attended Mt. Pleasant Church of God, Dillsburg and was a member
of Teamsters No. 776; AOPA; the NRA; and "The Drive."
Surviving, besides his mother, are his wife, Joan Katherine Malosky
Smith; two sons, Jay Jeremy and Jeffrey E., both at home; three
sisters, Priscilla Shoffner and Caroline Reynolds, both of
Lewisberry and Lois Wiechman of Etters; and one stepbrother, Robert
Brown of Miami, Fla.
The Rev. Phillip Sturr will officiate at Saturday's service. Burial
will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dillsburg.

H. Eugene Steffen, Jr., 71, of Lewisberry,
died Tuesday, June 10, 1997 in his home.
Born April 4, 1926 in Selinsgrove, he was a son of Harry E. Steffen
Sr. of Lewisberry and the late Beatrice E. Miller.
Mr. Steffen, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, was a retired
clerk for the railroad division of Bethlehem Steel Corp.,
He was a member of Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisberry
and a graduate of Steelton Highspire High School.
Surviving, besides his father, are his wife, Doris Koller Steffen;
two sons, David E. of Lewisberry and Dale J. of Germantown, Md.;
two daughters, Linda K. Gibson of Newberry Township and Keely A.
Stewart of Lakeland, Fla.; a brother, Garry L. of Lewisberry; three
sisters, Mary E. Calhoun of Lewisberry, Phyllis E. Spaseff of
Harrisburg and Nancy A. Plessinger of Mechanicsburg; and 10
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at his church, 863
Lewisberry Road, Lewisberry, with the Rev. Timothy L. Hoffman
officiating. Burial will be in Emanuel Cemetery, Fairview
