Carlisle, died Sunday night, June 15, 1997, in Chapel Pointe in
Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, will
announce arrangements when complete.
Services for Phyllis L. Lackey, 68, of 591 D
St., Carlisle, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hoffman-Roth Funeral
Home, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle.
Mrs. Lackey died Saturday, June 14, 1997, in the Carlisle
Born June 4, 1929, in Newville, she was a daughter of the late
David and Alwilda Minnich Line.
Mrs. Lackey was a retired employee of UGI Gas Company, with 20
years of service in Carlisle and Harrisburg.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Carlisle,
and the Carlisle Y's Mennettes. She was a volunteer for Meals on
Wheels and was a former den mother and Girl Scout leader.
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, R. Gerald Lackey; a
daughter, Kimberly L. Krammes of Carlisle; a son, Eric G., of
Virginia Beach, Va.; two brothers, Arthur A. Line of Carlisle and
Robert Line of Boiling Springs; a sister, Helen Alt of Lancaster,
and three grandchildren.
The Rev. Michael V. Minnix will officiate at Wednesday's service.
Burial will be in Kutz's Cemetery, Middlesex Towship.
There will be no viewing, but the family will receive friends from
6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Four Diamond Fund, care
of Hershey Medical Center, P.O. 852, Hershey 17033.
Graveside services for Burnetta P. Stouffer,
90, of Atmore, Ala., and formerly of Carlisle, will be at 10 a.m.
Wednesday in Westminster Cemetery, North Middleton Township.
She died Thursday, June 12, 1997, in Atmore (Ala.) Nursing Care
Born July 8, 1906 in Carlisle, she was a daughter of the late
Charles and Mable Mentzer Stover and the widow of John H.
Mrs. Stouffer was retired from the Carlisle Area High School,
having worked in the cafeteria.
Surviving are a son, Richard Wayne of Ocala, Fla.; three daughters,
Betty Schoff of Ft. Myers, Fla.; Dorothy Albert of Atmore, Ala.,
and Margaret Myers of Lancaster; a brother, Richard Stover of
Carlisle; two sisters, Violet Rockey of Carlisle and Marie Howell
of Honesdale; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, John H. Jr.; a daughter, Lois
Lupien, and a brother, Robert Stover.
