• Jeffrey Allen Brown, 40, of 11 Sulphur Springs Road, Duncannon, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 1997 at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Md.

    Born in Harrisburg, he was a retired employee of New Cumberland Army Depot. He attended St. Thomas United Church of Christ, Linglestown and was a graduate of Central Dauphin High School and Harrisburg Area Community College.

    He is survived by his parents, Frank and Marcia Kiner Brown of Duncannon.

    A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

  • Albert B. Pooler, 89, of Millsboro, Del. and formerly of New Cumberland, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 1997 in Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md.

    Born Jan. 17, 1908 in Altoona to the late Harry and Agnes Pooler. he was the owner and operator of Pooler's Grocery Store, Eighth and Bridge streets, New Cumberland. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, New Cumberland.

    He is survived by his wife, Erma I. Deibler Pooler; two daughters, Joan Piccerillo of Pen Argyl and Linda Parhan of New Cumberland; three sons, Albert R. of Austin, Texas, Douglas A. of Ft. Wayne, Ind. and James G. Sr. of Dover; 19 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

    Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday in Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland with his grandson, James G. Pooler Jr., officiating.

    Viewing will be from 1 p.m. until time of service Monday in the funeral home.

  • Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, for Nicholas David Robinson, infant son of Eric M. and Chastity G. Yocum Robinson of Elliottsburg RR 1.

    He died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 1997 in Hershey Medical Center.

    In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, April M. and Tori L., both at home; paternal grandparents, David and Sharon Robinson of Elliottsburg; maternal grandparents, Robert and Pauline Swartz of Ickesburg; paternal great-grandparents, Paul and Althea Robinson of Loysville; maternal great-grandparents, John and Pauline Klinger of Elliottsburg; paternal great-great-grandmother, Eleanor Robinson of Mt. Joy; and maternal great-great-grandparents, Catherine Klinger of Elliottsburg and Gladys Hoffman of Millerstown.

    The Rev. Michael A. Zang will officiate at Sunday's services. Burial will be in Centre Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Loysville RR #1.

    Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

  • Louise Fleiszbein "Frenchy" Scandrol, 62, of 1519 Kathryn St., New Cumberland, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 1997 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Township.

    Born April 27, 1935 in Paris, France to the late Morris and Zenta Dzik Fleiszbein, she was a vendor for McCormick Spice Co. and an avid bingo player.

    She was a member of Temple Beth Shalom, Mechanicsburg; VFW Post 7415 Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Post 143 Ladies Auxiliary, both of New Cumberland; and Steelton Moose Lodge Ladies Auxiliary.

    She is survived by her husband, Samuel R. Scandrol; a son, Eric S. of New Cumberland; two daughters, Valerie C. Scandrol and Patricia A. Wilson, both of Richfield; a stepson, Phillpe Scandrol of Bordeaux, France; a sister, Claire Ross of Skokie, Ill.; three brothers, Joseph, Jacque and Felix Fleiszbein, all of Paris, France; and five grandchildren.

    Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Lebanon County, with Rabbi Cari Choper officiating.

    Friends will be received at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday. Shiva observance will begin at the family's residence immediately following services.

  • Funeral services for Dorothea A. Leber Walsh, 83, of Woodcrest Villa, Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, and formerly of Loysville, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Lebanon United Church of Christ, Loysville.

    She died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 1997 in Essa Flory Hospice Center, Lancaster.

    Born Aug. 28, 1914 in Scranton to the late Wilhelm and Dorothea A. Steinecke Leber, she was the widow of John J. Walsh.

    She was a member of Lebanon United Church of Christ.

    Surviving are a son, Dick J. Walsh of Waynesboro; a daughter, Dianne W. Nesbitt of Strasburg; and four grandchildren.

    The Rev. E. Levain Fouse will officiate at services. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery, Loysville.

    Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville.
