PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Patrick Murphy is throwing his support behind former opponent Kathleen Kane in the Pennsylvania attorney general's race.
Murphy, a former two-term congressman, endorsed Kane on Tuesday. He called the Democratic primary campaign "a family fight" and urged Democrats to rally behind Kane in the general election.
Kane faces Republican David Freed, the Cumberland County district attorney, in the Nov. 6 vote.
Kane, a former Lackawanna County prosecutor, defeated Murphy with 53 percent of the vote in the April primary.
