GILBERTSVILLE, Pa. (AP) — A suburban Philadelphia man accused of shooting a woman during an apparent road rage incident says he does not belong in jail.
Fifty-year-old John Yannarell of Gilbertsville was arrested after a woman was shot in the arm and leg at about 7:15 a.m. Friday on Route 422 in Oaks in Montgomery County, about 20 miles northwest of Philadelphia. He was released Monday after posting bail on charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
But Yannarell told WPVI-TV on Tuesday night, in his words, “I’m not a nasty person. I’m not a bad person.”
He said going to jail had been a terrible experience and he hopes to show the public he is not the kind of person portrayed in the allegations.
Yannarell declined to discuss specifics of the case on the advice of his attorney.
