WORMLEYSBURG – The Midstate’s oldest private school boasts the area’s newest suite for music education.
Harrisburg Academy opened the doors this week to its new 3,200-square-foot music suite in its Wormleysburg campus. The addition features six rooms for instrument instruction and practice along with a lobby and storage area.
“Music education is a vital element in the experience of almost all Harrisburg Academy students. Our new and spacious music suite will further enhance that experience,” Head of School Jim Newman said.
Construction costs were covered by fundraising through the Academy’s Bold Ambition campaign. The academy has scheduled concerts during alumni functions next month to showcase the new rooms.
Founded in 1784, Harrisburg Academy is the country’s 17th oldest non-public school.
