The Borough of Newville/Kiwanis Christmas Parade will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14.
The parade forms in the parking lot of the First United Presbyterian Church at 6 p.m. Participants should enter from Springfield Avenue.
The parade route will follow Walnut Street to West Big Spring Avenue. It will cross South High Street to East Big Spring Avenue and will end at the Big Spring Presbyterian Church parking lot on North Corporation Street.
Newville Borough Councilman Ed Sinkovitz will serve as the master of ceremonies.
Hot dogs, hot chocolate and coffee will be served at various locations along the parade route. Pondview Trading Post will be at 51 W. Big Spring Ave. Boys Scout Troop 174 will serve hot dogs and coffee at the fountain. F&M Trust and the Newville Historical Society will serve hot chocolate and cookies at the bank parking lot on East Big Spring Avenue. Friendship Hose Company will serve coffee and hot chocolate from the ramp at the fire station.
Following the parade, Santa will visit children of the community. Stockings prepared by the Borough of Newville and Big Spring Kiwanis will be distributed to children up to age 11.
