Each week, The Sentinel publishes stories we receive to prompts in Kids World and on www.cumberlink.com. This week’s Kids Speak Out prompt was “My skill that I am most proud of is ...”

“My skill that I am most proud of is soccer. I have been playing soccer for almost three years. I can kick the ball very far—about the whole field. I like soccer because I like skirmishes and play games and tournaments. Soon I am going to play indoor soccer.”

Spencer Yerger, 9

Grade 3

East Pennsboro Elementary School

“A skill that I am most proud of is singing, because you can really, really express your feelings with music. If you were sad, you would start with a low key. If you were angry, you would start in a high key, and a lot of other expressions with music. The music genre I enjoy is pop. Other people also enjoy rock, classical and country. I also love dancing to the music, as well, so I guess you could say I’m a music lover and dancing lover.”

Liliana Mast, 9

“My skill that I am most proud of is I am a good cook. I love to cook breakfast with my mom or any type of food. My brothers say you are a super good cook. I love to bake. I make amazing cakes and cookies.”

“My skill that I am most proud of is a front flip on the trampoline. I wasn’t even in gymnastics. One day, I said ‘Don’t give up!’ So I kept trying and trying. Then one day, I landed it. So today, I know how to do flips on the trampoline. The front flip is my favorite trick because it was my first trick I learned on the trampoline.”
