Each week, The Sentinel publishes stories we receive to prompts in Kids World and on www.cumberlink.com. This week’s Kids Speak Out prompt was “If it started raining food, I would want it to rain ...”

“If it started raining food, I would want it to rain pancakes and Red Robin food and cheeseburgers and ice cream. Any of them are good. I would eat all of it, but when I’m full, I’ll save some for later.”

I would want steak to rain because I would catch it, then when I would bite through it, I would see the bright pink in the middle under the brown, juicy thickness over top. I also love love love the taste of it, but the only steak I like is the bright pink medium rare.”

“If it started raining food, I would want it to rain ... ice cream and sprinkles. At the park, the kids could dive in and eat and swim at the same time. It would be awesome! The hail would be cherries. The juice would be the hail melting. The tornadoes would be strawberry syrup. I would want to get caught in there. The clouds would be cups. When the cups tip over, the ice cream will fall out.”

Alia Beidel, 7

Newville Elementary School “If it started raining food, I would want it to rain burritos. They would be very delicious to eat. It will be like ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs,” but with burritos. It will be raining all week. I could have them for dinner every Tuesday. They’ll have guacamole, cheese, rice and taco meat. We don’t have to make them or buy them at Taco Bell. It will be like someone is making and delivering out of the sky. We can just go outside and catch them on our plates and just go inside and eat our burritos. It will be a dream come true.”
