Each week, The Sentinel publishes stories we receive to prompts in Kids World and on www.cumberlink.com. This week’s Kids Speak Out prompt was “If I could travel back in time, I would go to ...”

“If I could travel back in time, I would go back to when I was a kindergartener. That would be amazing! But we cannot go back in time. But if we could, it would be the best!”

Macee Rynard, Grade 1

Newville Elementary School “If I could go back in time, I would go back to a dinosaur time. I would ride on a Spinosaurus. My pet would be a Velociraptor. I would eat huge meals. There would be bad dinosaurs that my Spinosaurus would eat up. My Velociraptor would hunt down little dinosaurs. If I got to go to the dinosaur time, it would be amazing!”

Trenton Smith, 8, Grade 2 St. Patrick School

“If I could travel back in time, I would go to when Martin Luther King, Jr. was alive. I would save him and let him live. I will protect him for the rest of his life and let him be him.”

Jayde Wilson, Grade 1 Newville Elementary School

“If I could go back in time, I would go to Egypt because I want to see the pyramids and mummies. I want to ride a camel, it looks like fun. I also think there is gold and diamonds there. I want to wear Egyptian clothes. That also looks fun to me. I also want to sleep in an Egyptian house.”

Ella Trispagonas, 8 Grade 2 St. Patrick School

“If I could travel back in time I would be a caveman. I would like to travel in caves. I would study all of the caves. I like caves, and it would be fun.”

Cody Cornman, 8 Grade 2 Newville Elementary School

“If I could go back in time, I would go back to the time when my mom was my age. We could play together. I could also play with my uncle, her little brother. It might be weird for her to see me because she doesn’t even know she would have a daughter yet. It would also be weird to see my grandma. They would also not have Lady, my grandma’s dog, yet. I wonder what it would be like.”

Josephine Birbeck, 8

Grade 2

St. Patrick School

“If I could travel back in time, I would travel back to see my grandpa and uncle before they died. I would just hug them and spend the whole day with them until I had to go. I would have the best time with them!”

Tiffany Alston, 8 Grade 2 Newville Elementary School
