Each week, The Sentinel publishes stories we receive to prompts in Kids World and on www.cumberlink.com. This week’s Kids Speak Out prompt was “If I could transform into any animal, I would be ...”

“If I could transform into any animal, I would be a (Texas) longhorn. What I would do is fight with another longhorn. I would probably win. What I would look like is brown and white with really, really long horns. Why I would like to be a longhorn is because I like their long horns and I would run around and run over and knock over the other longhorns.”

“If I could transform into any animal, I would be a bat and a chameleon because I want to eat bugs and change colors to scare off eagles.”

“If I could transform into any animal, I would be able to transform into a lion because my favorite animal is a lion. Lions are big, and I like the colors that they are. Lions are fierce and they love to hunt. They are brave, too, and they are fast. Those are all good skills to have when they are hunting. Lions like to catch zebras and gazelles.”

“If I could transform into any animal, I would choose to be a dragon. I think dragons are so cool because in ‘Harry Potter,’ they have lots of different types of dragons. And I love them so much. They look like loyal and fierce pets.”
