Each week, The Sentinel publishes stories we receive to prompts in Kids World and on www.cumberlink.com. This week’s Kids Speak Out prompt was “For New Year’s Eve, I plan to ...”

“For New Year’s Eve, I plan to just play video games and eat junk food. I will eat cookies and candy. I will play ‘Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes’ and ‘Dragon City.’ I also plan to make some better pranks to play on my sister. On New Year’s morning I plan to have pancakes and play with my toys.”

“For New Year’s Eve we drink. The kids drink fizzy apple cider and the adults drink wine. Sometimes they let us stay up until midnight which is awesome! Then we have to go to bed, but I stay up and read. I would read until 1 o’clock. Then I would go to bed.”

“For New Year’s Eve, I plan to stay up and try to pull an all-nighter. I want to do that because on New Year’s Eve, I can barely keep my eyes open. I also plan to have a party at my house with my family and play games. I also plan to stay up and watch the ball drop. I lastly plan to have a mannequin challenge at 12:01 and see the New Year challenge.”

“For New Year’s I plan to go to Hershey Park with my Mimi. I really want to go skiing with my dad and my mom and my sister, Ireland. I do not know what else we will do on New Year’s Day, but I know that my mom and dad have something in mind.”

“For the new year, I plan to have a New Year’s Eve party. I like to watch the ball drop at midnight. Whenever the ball drops, I blow party blowers. I also just like to hang out with my family.”

“For New Year’s I plan to go to my friend’s house and bring confetti. I will try to stay up late and watch the ball drop in New York on TV. Last year I stayed up until 3 o’clock. New Year’s is the only night I get to stay up until 3 o’clock.”

“For New Year’s Eve we always have a Christmas talent show. Most of my family comes to our house to watch. Some of the family does a part in it. Last year I did ‘Silent Night’ on the piano. This year I’m going to play ‘Joy to the World’ on the piano. We get to eat cookies and play games, and when we go to bed, we wish the same thing would happen tomorrow!”
