Members 1st Federal Credit Union managers donated $20,000 to the Building a Better Bosler Campaign Tuesday.
Robert R. Marquette, president and CEO of the credit union, and George Nahodil, executive vice president of Members 1st, presented a check to Don Mowery, campaign cabinet member-at-large; Linda Rice, Bosler Library director; and Melissa Killinger, assistant director/Children's Librarian.
The donation will help fund a two-story addition and renovation of the 112-year-old Bosler Memorial Library in Carlisle.
"Members 1st is committed to the communities in which we serve, and we can't think of a better way to support our community than by assisting the Bosler Memorial Library to further enrich the lives of people through access to books, knowledge and information," Marquette said.
"We greatly appreciate Members 1st Federal Credit Union's strong support of Bosler Library," said Nancy George, Capital Campaign chair. "Thanks to their gift and the gifts of many others, Bosler Library will be able to meet the needs of our community for decades to come."
Marquette and Nahodil have chosen the Children's Librarian Office as the naming opportunity for Members 1st Federal Credit Union in the expanded Bosler Library.
The donation brings the Building a Better Bosler Campaign total to 85 percent of its $6.5 million goal. Fundraising will continue until the entire amount has been raised. Construction began on Dec. 5, 2011, and is expected to be completed in May 2013.
