PennDOT is reporting a multi-vehicle crash near mile marker 54.4 on Interstate 81 north in Middlesex Township at 3:20 p.m.

Three people were injured after a five-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 north in Middlesex Township at 3:15 p.m. Jan. 26. Police said Ricky L. Bricker, 58, of Greencastle, was driving a 1999 GMC Sierra in the left lane on I-81 north when he failed to see the stopped traffic and struck the back of a 2015 Honda Civic, starting a chain reaction that would involve three more cars. Bricker and the Honda driver, Matthew L. Jordan, 24, of Pleasantville, New York, both suffered minor injuries but refused medical attention. A third driver, Deborah E. Robertson, 69, of Boiling Springs, also suffered minor injuries and was transported by Cumberland Goodwill EMS to UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle. The vehicles belonging to the drivers who suffered injuries had to be towed. The other two were driven from the scene.

PennDOT is reporting a multi-vehicle crash near mile marker 52 on Interstate 81 north in Middlesex Township at 3:20 p.m.

Interstate 81 north will be closing at Exit 49 in Carlisle to divert traffic.

At 4:14 p.m., State Police at Carlisle said the crash involved multiple vehicles with minor injuries. One lane is currently closed northbound.

PennDOT traffic cameras show the crash between Exit 52A and Exit 52B in Middlesex and traffic is backlogged in the area, up to 4 miles in the north bound lanes.
