This week’s Tour Through Time takes a look at then and now images of the first block of North Pitt Street in Carlisle where John S. Low’s Carlisle Bottling works was located in the 1920s, after the business had closed due to prohibition.
The then image shows the aftermath of a fire in downtown Carlisle along North Hanover Street circa 1924.
The now image shows the change over the years.
Tour Through Time will run Saturdays in the Sentinel as a joint project with the Cumberland County Historical Society. Sentinel photographers will work with staff at the Historical Society each week to offer a look at Carlisle and the surrounding area through the years.
