State Police at Chambersburg (264-5161)

• A crash occurred in the 8000 block of Molly Pitcher Highway in Southampton Township at 4:15 a.m. May 5.

The operator of a vehicle struck a utility pole and suffered unknown injuries.

• Someone entered a garage and took a bicycle in the 1500 block of Crottlestown Road in Hamilton Township between 1 p.m. April 26 and 5:50 p.m. May 3.

According to police, someone removed an orange Mongoose bicycle with a black and white leather seat, duct tape on the handle bars and skull air caps on the front and rear tires from the garage.

• Ashley Marie Oberholzer, 19, of St. Thomas was charged with retail theft after she attempted to steal yogurt and shaving razors from the Walmart in the 1700 block of Lincoln Way East in Guilford Township at 4:30 p.m. May 4.

• Shawna Danelle Stiver, 26, of Chambersburg was charged with simple assault and harassment after an incident occurred in the 500 block of Siloam Road in Greene Township at 6:52 a.m. May 4.

According to police, Stiver punched someone several times in the face causing a bloody lip and also choked and scratched the person.

State Police at Newport (567-3110)

• Someone broke the rear passenger quarter-window of a vehicle by unknown means in the 500 block of Windy Hill Road in Carroll Township between 8 p.m. April 21 and 8 a.m. April 22.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.

• Someone put an unknown substance into a vehicle’s gas tank and caused the fuel pump to seize in the 600 block of Manassa Road in Jackson Township between 12:01 a.m. April 29 and 12 a.m. May 1.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.

• Matthew Scott Ryan, 26, of Bellefonte was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after troopers stopped him for traffic violations on Routes 11/15 at Mountain Road in Buffalo Township at 10:17 a.m. May 2.

• Someone took two batteries from a camper and damaged a plastic vent and decal in the 800 block of Susquehanna Trail in Liverpool Township sometime between October 1 and April 29.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.

• Someone slashed tires on a vehicle in the 100 block of North Front Street in Newport Borough between April 25 and April 28.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.

• A crash occurred when a deer entered a lane of traffic on Route 22 in Howe Township at 6:45 a.m. May 3.

A vehicle was traveling east in the right-hand lane of Route 22/322 just west of the Route 34 off-ramp when a deer jumped the guide rail and landed in the right lane in the vehicle’s path. The vehicle struck the deer and continued approximately a half mile east to a final resting place. The vehicle was towed from the scene. No one was injured.

• A crash occurred when a deer entered the roadway on Route 11 in Watts Township at 9:05 p.m. May 2.

The vehicle was traveling north on Route 11 when it struck a deer on the roadway. No one was injured.

State Police at Carlisle (249-2121)

• Someone dented a truck with an unknown object in the first block of Bard Drive in Shippensburg Township between 7 p.m. May 2 and 3 p.m. May 3.

• Someone threw an object at a vehicle causing minor damage at Routes 94 and 34 in Mt. Holly Springs Borough at 12:46 a.m. May 4.

• Someone set a couch on fire in a parking lot in the 1000 block of Bard Drive in Shippensburg Township at 1:48 a.m. May 3.

Someone also broke approximately 20 beer bottles on the pavement around the fire.

• David Maleka Atraga, 47, of Arlington, Va., was charged with retail theft after he exited a store with $6 worth of merchandise in the 900 block of Walnut Bottom Road in South Middleton Township at 6:15 a.m. May 4.

• Someone presented a person with a bad check in the 1400 block of Center Road in Lower Mifflin Township between 12:01 a.m. April 11 and 12 a.m. April 12.

The recipient tried to deposit the check and it was returned to the person stamped “non-sufficient funds.”

• Someone entered a rental property through a window before they fled the scene in the 3100 block of Ritner Highway in West Pennsboro Township between 5 p.m. April 23 and 9 a.m. April 24.

• Earl Ray Wattier, 31, of Mt. Holly Springs was charged with driving under the influence after an incident occurred in a parking lot on Conestoga Drive about two miles north of Route 174 in Shippensburg Township at 6:01 p.m. May 4.

According to police, Wattier had taken possession of his 8-year-old son from a female on the scene and placed his son in the rear seating area of his vehicle, intending to leave the parking lot with the child for the evening.

Further investigation revealed that Wattier was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage that rendered himself a danger to others. He was taken to Cumberland County Prison.

• Someone removed a front end loader for a tractor, a heavy duty wheelbarrow and a truck wheel from a property in the first block of Kutz Road in Penn Township between 6 and 7 a.m. April 28.

A silver pickup truck was observed at the scene. The person then fled the scene.
