Carlisle Police (717-243-5252)

Jasmine Malakin, 30, of Carlisle, was charged with theft from a motor vehicle and loitering and prowling at night after she was identified as the woman who had been seen rummaging through a vehicle in the 300 block of East North Street at 5:36 a.m. Nov. 4. Police said a witness described the woman as a white female who was wearing her hair up and was carrying a backpack. Officers found a woman matching that description in the 200 block of East North Street, and she was positively identified by the witness as the woman she had seen. The owner of the vehicle said no one had permission to be in the vehicle, and the owner did not know the suspect. Malakin remains in Cumberland County Prison on $5,000 bail.

Between 5 p.m. Oct. 27 and 10:30 a.m. Oct. 28, two catalytic converters were removed from two vans in the parking lot of a business in the 1600 block of Ritner Highway. Police said catalytic converters are located underneath a vehicle, and an electrical saw or a similar tool would have likely been used. The cost of the catalytic converters were estimated at $600 each. Police seek information.

Packages were reported stolen from porches in the areas of the first block of Walnut Street and the 400 block of Arch Street from Oct. 26 and Nov. 2. The thefts were reported during the afternoon hours. Police are investigating.

Jeannie Snyder, 30, of Shape Gap, was arrested on an active warrant at 12:06 p.m. Oct. 31. During a search after being taken into custody, she was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. She was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

North Middleton Township Police (717-243-7910)

Police are investigating a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 2:57 a.m. Nov. 8 at Cranes Gap Road and Tree View. The vehicle rolled onto its roof, trapping three of its four passengers inside. The driver was taken to UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle by Yellow Breeches EMS. Two other passengers were taken to Geisinger Holy Spirit by Cumberland-Goodwill EMS, and another passenger was taken to Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center by Cumberland-Goodwill EMS. North Middleton Volunteer Fire Company and Carlisle Fire and Rescue also assisted at the scene.

Joshua McManigle, 30, of Shermans Dale, was charged with defiant trespass and public drunkenness after police said he was found passed out on the front lawn of a residence in the 1800 block of Sterretts Gap Avenue in the early morning hours of Nov. 3. Police said he refused to leave the premises and he was found to be a danger to himself. He remains in Cumberland County Prison on $1,000 bail.

Sarah Vogt, 27, of Carlisle, was charged with simple assault and harassment. Police said a verbal argument escalated, resulting in Vogt scratching the victim’s neck and chest, and biting the victim on the arm.

West Shore Regional Police (717-238-9676)

Police are investigating a crash in Lemoyne Borough. Around 2 p.m. on Nov. 7, a gray Jeep Cherokee hit the side of a parked red Freightliner tractor-trailer. The driver of the Jeep told officers she had been traveling east on Hummel Avenue when a dark-colored vehicle passed her on the left and forced her to the right, causing her to hit the parked truck. The vehicle kept going and was last seen turning on South 10th Street. Witnesses confirmed the driver’s account, and said the vehicle may have been a Hyundai Veloster. No one was injured in the crash. Police seek information on the vehicle that left the scene.

Tara Elizabeth Hogarth, 39, of Palmyra, was charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled substance after police said she stole a Rolex watch from a residence in Lemoyne Borough Nov. 2 and then pawned it. Police recovered the watch and returned it to the victim. Hogarth was arrested Nov. 3. During the arrest, police found her to be in possession of a controlled substance.

State Police at Carlisle (717-249-2121)

Bryan W. Shatto, 35, of Dillsburg, was charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment after police said he pointed a firearm at another person during a road rage incident at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 18 around mile marker 57 on Interstate 81 northbound in Silver Spring Township.

Two rear-view mirrors were smashed on a vehicle in the 900 block of South Spring Garden Street between 7 p.m. Oct. 25 and 10 a.m. Oct. 26.

A bicycle was reported stolen from the back porch of a home in the first block of Timber Lane in Shippensburg Township between Oct. 26 and 27.

Lug nuts were loosened on a vehicle in the 300 block of Alexander Spring Road in South Middleton Township between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Oct. 29.

State Police at Newport (717-567-3110)

Police are investigating the theft of a motor vehicle from a location in the 200 block of Peach Ridge Road in Saville Township on Aug. 23.

A wooden porch swing was stolen from the porch of a home on Pisgah State Road in Carroll Township at 11:53 p.m. Oct. 14. Police are investigating.

Loose change and a pair of earrings were stolen from cars in the 800 block of North 4th Street in Oliver Township between 9:30 a.m. Oct. 31 and 6 a.m. Nov. 1. Police seek information.
