Middlesex Township Police (717-249-7191)

Bryan Steward Letcavage, 30, of Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania, was charged with DUI, false reports and summary traffic offenses after police said he crashed a Ford pickup truck into a telephone pole on Jan. 5.

State Police at Newport (717-567-3110)

Around 3:20 p.m. Nov. 29, someone struck a 9-year-old girl who was in the first block of Fifth Street in Newport and fled the scene. No further details were provided.

Two buildings on Laurel Run Road in Southwest Madison Township were broken into and property including a safe box and a crossbow were stolen between 12 a.m. Dec. 25 and 8 a.m. Jan. 9.

Fairview Township Police (717-901-5267)

Police reported Jan. 4 that Jamie R. Cooper, 41, of New Cumberland, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person after a domestic incident on Dec. 27 in the 400 block of Centerview Avenue. Police said Cooper had assaulted a female relative, breaking her arm and fracturing her hip. The incident happened earlier in the day before the report, but police said the victim was unable to call for help. It was only when a third person arrived that her condition was discovered. Cooper was arrested and posted $30,000 cash bail.
