Carlisle Police (717-243-5252)

Police are investigating a fraud case in which a woman was contacted by a man on Instagram and told her had a way for her to make money but he needed to deposit money first into her bank account. The woman gave the man her information, and he deposited fraudulent checks into her account. She then sent him $2,400 in cash. The incident was reported on Jan. 5.

West Shore Regional Police (717-238-9676) Numerous vehicles parked along Rupley Road, East Crestwood Drive and other streets were forcibly entered in Wormleysburg, police said.

State Police at Carlisle (717-249-2121)

Two people were injured after a four-vehicle crash on Boiling Springs Road at South Locust Point Road in Monroe Township at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 4. Police said Patricia A. Martin, 83, of Mechanicsburg, was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox east on Boiling Springs Road when she made a left turn onto South Locust Point Road. Jonathan J. Detman, 32, of Mount Holly Springs, who was traveling in the oncoming direction, was unable to stop his 2009 Saturn Vue in time and struck Martin’s vehicle. Two more vehicles became involved after the initial crash. Martin suffered suspected serious injury and was transported to Geisinger Holy Spirit. Detman also was transported to the hospital. The two other drivers and a child passenger were not injured. Martin was cited for failure to properly make a left turn.

Damien Daniel Boyles, 19, of Carlisle, was charged with misdemeanor possession of a small amount of marijuana, DUI and summary traffic violations, and Damien Allen Chichester, 18, of Carlisle, was charged with misdemeanor possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop on Interstate 81 south in Dickinson Township around 8:20 p.m. Nov. 22.

Between Jan. 1 and Jan. 7 a 12-foot Field and Stream camouflage blue kayak and a 10-foot Pelican gray kayak were stolen from the 400 block of Walnut Street in South Middleton Township.

Curtis Johnson, 68, of Harrisburg, was injured when a vehicle driven by Young Foo, 27, of Humelstown, ran a stop sign at the intersection of West 1st Street and Front Street in South Middleton Township and struck Johnson’s vehicle around 10:50 a.m. Jan. 7, police said.

Anthony Cleck, 29, of Carlisle, was traveling too fast for conditions when he ran off the road on Interstate 81 north in South Middleton Township around 10:15 p.m. Jan. 2, struck an embankment and then struck a cement barrier, police said. Cleck was taken to UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle as a result of the crash.

State Police at Newport (717-567-3110)

Police are investigating a hit-and-run in which an unknown vehicle went through a small field and struck a mailbox on Pleasant Valley Road in Centre Township at 4:16 p.m. Dec. 14, police reported Jan. 7. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

A cellphone was taken from Chris’ Pizza in the 1300 block of Susquehanna Trail Road, Liverpool, between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Jan. 5.
