State Police at Carlisle (717-249-2121)

Police said Samantha Mary Kinsinger, 28, of Carlisle, struck a man during a domestic violence incident on Springview Road in West Pennsboro Township around 11 p.m. Dec. 27 and was charged with misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment.

Brian A. Whitmer, 42, of Boiling Springs, was injured when he was texting and driving, causing him to rear end a dump truck while traveling south on Interstate 81 in Silver Spring Township around 12 p.m. Dec. 28, police said.

A handgun was reported missing between 1 p.m. Dec. 19 and 10 a.m. Dec. 23 in the 200 block of Pine Road, South Middleton Township. The handgun is a Glock 26 Gen 4, 9 mm.

State Police at Newport (717-567-3110)

Police reported Dec. 30 that Cleve Henry Hostetter, 63, of Ducannon, was charged with two counts each of simple assault and harassment. Police said he pulled out a pocket knife and lunged at two people on Beers Avenue, Miller Township, at 6:12 p.m. Dec. 19. The charges were waived to higher court on Dec. 29.

Rebecca Shaub, 23, of Duncannon, was charged with aggravated assault, two counts of simple assault and two counts of harassment after an incident at 7:45 p.m. Dec. 28 on Pfautz Road, Penn Township. Police did not give details about the incident. She remains in Perry County Prison on $5,000 cash bail.

Two people were injured in a one-vehicle crash on Spring Road, Carroll Township, at 1:14 a.m. Dec. 28. Police said Nicholas P. Evans, 23, of New Bloomfield, was driving a 2007 Toyota Scion TC north in the 6400 block of Spring Road when his vehicle left the road, struck an embankment and rolled three times. Evans’ passenger, Vincent R. Evans, 21, of New Bloomfield, was ejected from the vehicle suffered what police described as minor injuries. Nicholas Evans also suffered minor injuries, and the vehicle sustained disabling damage, police said. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Police are investigating a hit-and-run in which a vehicle backed across the first block of South Market Street at 2:22 p.m. Dec. 22 in Duncannon, struck a porch hanging above a sidewalk and fled without contacting the building’s owner.

A large, brown hot tub was stolen from the back patio of a residence in the 1000 block of New Valley Road, Rye Township, between Dec. 16 and Dec. 22.

Three feeder beef steers were stolen from Bernheisel Road, Southwest Madison Township, between 4 p.m. Dec. 28 and 4 p.m. Dec. 29.
