State Police at Carlisle (717-249-2121)

Gerald E. Walters, 59, of Newville, was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer west on Center Road in Lower Mifflin Township at 1:44 a.m. Dec. 19 when he crossed the center line for unknown reasons and hit a utility pole. Walters was taken to UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle for suspected minor injuries.

A trailer was stolen from the first block of Logistics Drive in South Middleton Township between Sept. 29 and Dec. 18.

Derrick W. Brown, 22, of Spring Grove, was driving a 2000 Volvo S40 north on Baltimore Road at 2:12 p.m. Dec. 12 at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle, went off the road and hit a tree. Brown was taken to Geisinger Holy Spirit for a suspected serious injury. State Police were assisted at the scene by Shippensburg Fire and EMS. First responders on the scene were members of the Adams County Sheriff’s department, who secured the scene and contacted emergency services.

A truck pulled up to a residence in the 700 block of Grahams Woods Road at 9:15 p.m. Dec. 10, and took two reindeer decorations from the front yard. The thief then fled north on Grahams Woods Road. Police seek information.

A bullet hole was found in a car parked in the driveway of a home in the 100 block of Westlake Drive in Lower Frankford Township. The home is bordered by state game lands. The incident occurred between 9 p.m. Dec. 8 and 1:30 p.m. Dec. 9.

Davante M. Woodward, 22, of Harrisburg, was driving a 1997 Dodge Caravan south on Interstate 81 near mile marker 57.5 in Silver Spring Township at 6:58 a.m. Dec. 19 when the braking system failed and he began to smell and see smoke coming from under the vehicle. Woodward attempted to slow the vehicle before jumping out to avoid flames. No one was injured. Hampden Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.

Cash was stolen from two vehicles in Shippensburg Township between 2 p.m. Dec. 17 and 8:15 p.m. Dec. 18.

State Police at Newport (717-567-3110)

Sean Michael Vogel, 19, of Duncannon, faces a charge of felony criminal trespass after police said he broke into an empty home and lived there for a week between Nov. 10 and 17. Neighbors reported to police that a young man had been occupying a residence in the 200 block of Mulberry Street in Newport that had been abandoned and listed for sale. Police found identifying documents in the house that led them to Vogel, who admitted to entering the house through a first-story window and staying there for seven days.

Jessica M. Surcharski, 21, of Philadelphia, was driving a 2001 Honda CRV east on Route 322 in Watts Township at 2:28 p.m. on Dec. 15 when she lost control of the vehicle and slid off the highway, hitting an embankment before rolling. A passenger, Kerri McGinn, 22, of Broomall, was taken to Geisinger Holy Spirit. All three passengers in the car were wearing seat belts.

Police are investigating the theft of money from vehicles in the 100 block of Church Road in Carroll Township between 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 17 and 7:15 a.m. Dec. 18. Police seek information.

Someone cut the electrical wires to inflatable holiday decorations in the 400 block of Windy Hill Road in Carroll Township between midnight and 5 p.m. on Dec. 18. Police seek information.
