A car was airborne for more than 20 feet during a crash in South Middleton Township in late November, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Michelle Lee Brown, 37, of Carlisle, was traveling on Holly Pike when her 2002 Volkswagen Jetta drifted of the road and onto the right shoulder around 9 a.m. Nov. 20, police said.

Brown’s vehicle then struck a drainage ditch and traveled approximately 21 feet in the air before landing, traveled back onto the road and finally came to a rest along the right berm because of disabling damage, according to police.

She told police that she had blown a tire and struck a rock before the crash, police said.

According to police, alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
