State Police at Carlisle identified a man struck and injured Friday on Interstate 81 as Robert A. Marshall, 57, of Hedgesville, West Virginia.
Police said Robert A. Runyon, 47, of Newville, was driving a water tank truck on I-81 north at mile marker 46.2 in Carlisle at 12:21 p.m. Friday when he swerved to the right shoulder of the highway to avoid a slowing vehicle. His vehicle struck Marshall, who was on the shoulder of the road changing a tire.
Marshall suffered serious injuries and was flown to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center for treatment. Marshall’s vehicle also sustained heavy damage.
Runyon was not injured.
