A Perry County man died this morning after being hit by a Norfolk Southern train in Duncannon, according to Perry County Coroner Michael Shalonis.

Shalonis said a Norfolk Southern conductor reported the incident around 6:20 a.m. today. However, Shalonis said the man was not hit by the train the conductor was in, but by an earlier one.

The man has not been identified yet because no next of kin have been notified, Shalonis said.

PIO Trooper Tom Pinkerton said investigators are currently waiting to get video from the train that hit the man to help them determine how he died.

Police do not have any reason to believe the death was suspicious or that foul play was involved, Pinkerton said.
