A Mechanicsburg man is facing charges after police say he exposed himself in a store in late May.

Matthew J. Hummel, 32, of Mechanicsburg was charged with open lewdness, indecent exposure and disorderly conduct on June 6 after an incident that Silver Spring Township police say occurred on May 21.

Police responded to the Kohl’s department store on the Carlisle Pike for a report of a man masturbating in public. After viewing security camera footage the man was observed exposing himself and masturbating while walking through the shopping isles.

He was identified as Hummel and was charged.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for July 11 at 10:45 a.m. in front of Magisterial District Judge Paula Correal.
