MIDDLESEX TWP. — A Carlisle man faces charges after police say he attacked a woman over an argument about milk.

Daniel K. Springstead, 28, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment after an incident at the Country Manor Trailer Park on Monday.

Police were called in reference to a domestic assault that had just taken place. It was found that Springstead had assaulted a woman, police said.

The woman said Springstead became enraged because she bought a gallon of milk and he had just bought two, police said. She said he slammed her against the wall, choked her and threw her on the floor, where he slapped her on the head, police said.

The woman did not require medical attention.

Springstead was arrested and arraigned. He is held in Cumberland County Prison on $200,000 bail, due to the fact he had just had a hearing for domestic assault at Magisterial District Judge Paul Fegley’s a few weeks earlier, police said. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday.
