A hearing for the man accused of killing 28-year-old Timothy Davison, of Poland, Maine, along Interstate 81 near Greencastle in 2014 has been continued.
John Wayne Strawser Jr., 40, of Belington, West Virginia, was scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Franklin County. That hearing was continued Tuesday and will be rescheduled for a later date.
Strawser faces one count of felony murder in the first degree for allegedly shooting and killing Davison in the early morning hours of Jan. 4, 2014.
Davison was traveling through Pennsylvania on his way to Maine after visiting family in Florida over Christmas when Strawser ran his vehicle off the road and shot him multiple times, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Police said Strawser likely mistook Davison’s silver SUV for that of one driven by the husband of a Waynesboro woman he had become infatuated with.
In Pennsylvania, a preliminary hearing is held determine if there is enough evidence for the case to be moved to the Court of Common Pleas where it is prepared for trial.
Strawser was convicted in 2016 of murdering his ex-girlfriend Amy Lou Buckingham by shooting her outside her West Virginia home in April 2015.
