The sexual assault charges against a Carlisle man accused of assaulting a 3-year-old girl were held for higher court during a preliminary hearing on Nov. 21.
Noe Chagala Mil, 40, was charged with rape of a child, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault of a child, sexual assault, indecent assault and endangering the welfare of a child in the 100 block of South Hanover Street at 4:18 a.m. Nov. 6 after an incident they say occurred at the home on South Hanover Street at 9 p.m. Nov. 5.
Police say officers responded to the Carlisle Regional Medical Center for a complaint of a child sexual assault at 10:22 p.m. Monday. The 3-year-old child was taken to CRMC and transferred to Holy spirit Hospital for treatment, evaluation and evidence collection.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the victim’s mother reported that the child came out of the bathroom and told her that she was dirty and wanted to take a bath. While helping the child, she noticed evidence of a possible sexual assault and the child complained of pain, the affidavit said.
The mother then confronted Chagala Mil, because the girl was with him alone just prior to the incident, according to the document.
The document states that Chagala Mil began to cry and admitted to touching the girl.
As a result of the investigation, Chagala Mil was arrested and admitted to sexually touching the girl, according to the affidavit.
He was arraigned on Tuesday in front of Magisterial District Judge Charles Clement Jr. and held in Cumberland County Prison on $100,000 cash bail.
All charges against him were held for Cumberland County Court of Common Pleas during a preliminary hearing on Nov, 21 in front of Magisterial District Judge Jessica Brewbaker.
A formal arraignment has been scheduled for county court at 9 a.m. Feb. 21.
According to court records, Chagala Mil is represented by Chief Public Defender Timothy Clawges.
