MECHANICSBURG — Crews responded to a fire at a KFC in Mechanicsburg on Sunday morning.

Just after 8:15 a.m. crews responded to the 6500 block of the Carlisle Pike in Cumberland County for reports of a water heater fire.

Additional emergency response teams arrived after dispatch reported smoke coming from the roof and eaves.

Firefighters made entry and found fire at the ceiling level and heavy smoke throughout the building. Crews located the source of the fire and were able to get it under control.

Once the fire was out, ventilation fans were used to remove smoke from the building.

The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshall was at the scene investigating. There is no word on a cause.

No one was injured.
