CASTLETON, Vt. — A former college president from Pennsylvania is going to become the next president of Vermont’s Castleton University.
The trustees of the Vermont State College System voted unanimously Thursday to appoint Karen Scolforo as the next Castleton president.
Scolforo will succeed Dave Wolk, who has led Castleton for 16 years. He announced his retirement in March.
From 2013 to earlier this year, Scolforo served as president of Central Penn College in East Pennsboro Township. She was chosen from among more than 50 candidates. She will begin her new job in December.
Castleton University has about 1,900 full-time students and another 200 part-time and graduate students. It’s a part of the Vermont State College system.
