A Shippensburg Borough Police officer fired once at a man who barricaded himself into an abandoned house Monday afternoon, Pennsylvania State Police said.

The man was taken into custody about an hour later and no one was injured, state police said.

The incident began when Shippensburg police asked State Police at Carlisle to assist them in serving a warrant in the 1200 Block of Baltimore Road, Southampton Township, at 3:53 p.m.

When police arrived at the abandoned residence, a man began threatening officers and pointed a gun at a Shippensburg officer, state police said. The officer fired one shot, but did not hit the man, police said. Police continued negotiating and the man surrendered and was taken into custody at 4:53 p.m., state police said.

No one was injured.

The suspect was not identified, and no other information was available.
