The bridge carrying Doubling Gap Road over the Conodoguinet Creek will be replaced in Lower Mifflin and North Newton townships.

The Route 233/Doubling Gap Road bridge over the Conodoguinet Creek in Lower Mifflin and North Newton townships will be replaced, with construction beginning during the week of July 31, according to PennDOT.

PennDOT said completion of the project is scheduled for late February 2018.

During this time frame, temporary traffic signals will direct traffic in an alternating pattern. The schedule may change in the event of “unfavorable weather” or unforeseen activities, according to PennDOT.

The bridge is one of PennDOT’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Projects, allowing PennDOT to remove it from Cumberland County’s list of structurally deficient bridges.
