Members of the Big Spring Watershed Association will offer free fly tying classes from mid-January to early March that will cover the basics and beyond of fly tying.
The first class will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, and cover the basic techniques. The class is designed for beginners and youths.
Classes will run on Tuesday nights through March 6 and cover topics such as streamers, terrestrials, midges and emergers, small crustaceans, bass flies and poppers, flies for fishing the Big Spring and a tiers choice night.
All classes will be held at the Community Room of Green Ridge Hall at Green Ridge Village, 210 Big Spring Road, Newville.
Attendees should bring their own materials and vice since there will be a limited amount of equipment and materials available for the class. Classes are open to special requests, and all levels are welcome.
