The board of directors of the Downtown Mechanicsburg Partnership presented a check to the Cumberland County Redevelopment Authority for $12,000 for the demolition of structures at 203 E. Main St., Mechanicsburg, next to the historic Frankenberger Tavern.

The new donation takes their investment in the park-like Frankenberger Gardens to be created at the demolition site to more than $14,000.

The partnership embarked on a mission to demolish the property in fall 2014, before the July 2015 arson that sealed its fate.

Beverly Bone, who serves as the president of the Mechanicsburg Museum Association and lives across from the property, provided a $3,000 check to the Cumberland County Redevelopment Authority toward project demolition costs.
