An 11-year-old boy was in critical condition at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center Friday night after he was struck by a vehicle in Hampden Township, police said.
The boy and his family were crossing the street in the 100 block of South Sporting Hill Road about 5:35 p.m. when he was struck by a white Dodge Ram pickup truck traveling southbound, police said. Police did not say whether the vehicle stopped after the incident.
Staff from a nearby Patient First clinic were the first to arrive and assist the victim, and Hampden Township EMS and paramedics arrived shortly later, police said.
The boy was flown to Hershey Medical Center by Life Lion.
Hampden Township Police Department is investigating the incident.
