The public is invited to attend a Rachel’s Challenge Parent/Community Night Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Swartz Auditorium of Carlisle High School.
During the one-hour presentation, local residents will hear the story of Rachel Joy Scott who was killed during the Columbine High School shooting on April 20, 1999.
Her story is part of an anti-bullying program being taught this week at the high school and at the Lamberton and Wilson middle schools.
The program includes an afternoon workshop where a select group of students are being trained to be school leaders in an effort to spread the word on the example set by Scott.
Alex Jackson of the Colorado-based organization Rachel’s Challenge will give the presentation.
