Carlisle Police are still looking for the suspect who shot and killed a Carlisle man Sunday afternoon.

Police said Sunday night they are still combing through a "complex" crime scene that involves a half a block worth of evidence.

Carlisle Police Sgt. David Miller said there was a shooting in a building at the corner of West North Street and North College Street, which resulted in the death of Rhyhiem Hodge, 35, of Carlisle. Miller said Hodge appears to have died of gunshot wounds. An autopsy is scheduled for a later date.

Miller noted that there was also a shooting outside of the building shortly after that. As of 9 p.m., police did not know if there was a victim in the second shooting, and they were hesitant to connect the two shootings just yet.

"We're still trying to piece that together," Miller said.

Police canvassed the area and interviewed witnesses, but they welcome more witnesses to come forward with information. Police are also looking at business cameras or in-car cameras to gather further evidence.

Police are still searching for the suspect, and police did not release a description of the suspect in an attempt to not tip off the shooter.

Miller added that there appears to be no ongoing threat to the public connected with the shooting.

Police are helping the Hodge family as the investigation continues.

"The Hodge family has been a long-time member of the community," Miller said. "We're taking this very seriously."
