Bosler Memorial Library will host a discussion on the science and implication of climate change.

“Responding to Climate Change: A Discussion with Local Scientists” will be held at 6:30 p.m. April 17.

Co-sponsored by Shippensburg University and Dickinson College, the discussion brings together local scientists from a variety of disciplines including geology, paleontology and climatology.

The free-flowing conversation will look at the scientific evidence for climate change, what it means for people living in Cumberland County and in the rest of the world and what is important for people to know and learn about climate change. It will also look at what individuals, private citizens, cities and states are doing about climate change and what more can be done.

Questions from the audience will also be addressed.

Panelists include Sean Cornell of Shippensburg University, Nathan Einsig of Mechanicsburg High School, Tim Hawkins of Shippensburg University, Neil Leary of Dickinson College, Lindsey Porter from Mechanicsburg High School and Joe Shane from Shippensburg University.
