Carlisle Borough officials posted a notice to the borough’s Facebook page Tuesday that blasting activity will be taking place at the old Masland/IAC site.
The post indicated the blasting would begin today to remove rock from areas where utility piping will be installed. All blasting will be conducted under local, state and federal regulations with a state licensed blaster in charge.
Property owners adjacent to the old IAC site should have received a letter in the mail informing them of proposed blasting activities near their properties.
A hotel, restaurant, residential units and “car condos,” three-story units designed with ground floor garages to house four to six vehicles, are planned for the site. Construction for the projects is expected to start this year.
The approved land development also calls for the extension of A, B, C and D streets from Fairground Avenue to Carlisle Springs Road. That work is expected to be completed this year, as well.
