Scott A Betts, age 58, sadly passed away unexpectedly at his home in Carlisle on Friday, February 23, 2018.

He was born November 17,1958 in Quincy, MA to the late Earl C. Betts and Frances M. (Black) Betts.

Scott was a 1978 graduate of Carlisle High School. He attended Georgia Southern University and the University of Arizona. Scott excelled as a golfer in his younger days, where he played for the Carlisle High School golf team. Scott enjoyed his walks, frequently stopping to chat bout times gone by and could often be seen walking in the Old Mooreland area. Scott was always a nature lover who looked after all creatures great and small. Writing and drawing were also great passions of his. Scott led a troubled life full of adversity; for that reason, he lived the life of Peter Pan, never wanting to grow up. His sister is broken hearted by his untimely passing and will miss him ever so much. She would like to thank his neighbors and the local community for looking after him.

He is survived by: his sister Sandra L. Chohany and her husband, Michael K. Chohany of Carlisle; nephews, Craig S. Chohany and Joseph M. Chohany; Uncle Robert Black; and Aunt, Gail Black of Carlisle. Scott was preceded by his mother Frances M. (Black) Betts in 1992 and just recently by his father Earl C. Betts.

Memorial services, celebrating father and son, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday March 2, 2018 at the US Army War College Memorial Chapel, Carlisle Barracks with Chaplain (COL) Jerry C. Sieg officiating. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Westminster Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association Capital Region Division 1019 Mumma Rd. Wormleysburg, PA 17043 or the Nature Conservancy,
