SHIPPENSBURG — The H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center at Shippensburg University announced its 2014-15 season schedule this week.

The 2014-2015 season kicks off on Aug. 23 with Terry Fator’s return to the Luhrs Center for his “It Starts Tonight Tour.”

The Luhrs Performing Arts Center 2014-2015 season features a variety of entertainment options including intimate solo artist performances, children’s and family programs, orchestral concerts and comedy.

Trace Adkins, Phillip Phillips, The Beach Boys, Foreigner, Billy Gardell and STOMP are included in the new lineup.

Single tickets, season subscriptions and flex series tickets go on sale Saturday at 11 a.m. Tickets can be purchased online at or by visiting or calling the Luhrs Center Box Office at 717-477-SHOW (7469). Season subscriptions and flex series must be purchased in person or over the phone, and are not available to purchase online.

The Proteus Lecture Series on Nov. 5 will feature best-selling author, teacher and essayist, Ron Suskind, who will speak on the topic of “Life, Animated,” which recounts his struggle with his youngest son, Owen, and his diagnosis of regressive autism.

New York Times best-selling author and Pulitzer Prize finalist, Wil Haygood, will speak on the topic of “The Butler: A Witness to History,” on Feb. 26, which traces the award-winning blockbuster film, “The Butler,” based on a story he wrote for the Washington Post.

Ballroom Dance Lessons are also offered on the Luhrs Center stage as beginner, advanced and third-timers weekly classes for a 6-week period, beginning March 16 and taught by dance instructor Frank Hancock.
