West Shore Theatre will host a special screening and question-and-answer session for an independent film, “Varsity Punks.”
The screening will take place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the theater, located at 317 Bridge St., in New Cumberland. The screening will be followed by a question-and-answer session with filmmaker Anthony Solorzano.
“Varsity Punks” is a coming-of-age comedy that centers around two group of athletes—those on the football team and those on the cross-country team. In the film, the star quarterback ends his football season with an injury to his hand and shakes up the high school hierarchy by joining the boys’ cross country team in an effort to score a championship.
The Midstate is part of the tour where the film will be screened. The local screening is open to the public at a cost of $6 per ticket.
