On Sunday, conductor and director Mark Hartman will lead the Shippensburg University-Community Orchestra in two classics of the orchestra repertoire from the classical and early romantic eras.
Students, community members and professional guests will be joined by violinist Lin He who will perform the concerto in E Minor by Felix Mendelssohn. Lin He has performed all over the country as a solo and chamber musician and is concertmaster of the Lake Charles Symphony in Louisiana.
The orchestra will also perform one of the greatest symphonies by the inventor of the symphony, Franz Joseph Haydn—his final numbered symphony, known as the “London Symphony.”
The concert will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center.
