• Market Square Concerts announces its 2012-13 season. Philharmonia Quartett Berlin opens the season at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, in Market Square Church. The program, which the group will be performing in Carnegie Hall just two days later, will include works by Mozart, Shostakovich and Brahms. At 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, in Temple Ohev Sholom, the U.K.-based Doric String Quartet will perform a program of Schumann, Chausson and one of the most celebrated late Beethoven quartets, Op.131. At 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, in the Whitaker Center, The Schumann Trio, comprised of Russian pianist Anna Polonsky, violist and founding member of the Guarneri Quartet Michael Tree and clarinetist Anthony McGill from the Metropolitan Opera, will perform music by Mozart, Schumann, Bruch and Kurtág. At 8 p.m. on Satuday, Feb. 16, in Temple Ohev Sholom quartets by Schubert, Ravel and John Corigliano will be performed. At 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, in Whitaker Center, pianist, Jeremy Denk will perform a program of music by Liszt and Brahms. The final concert of the season will take place at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, at the Whitaker Center when Market Square Concerts welcomes back Andrew Appel and his Four Nations Ensemble. • The York Symphony Orchestra announces its 2012-2013 Symphony season. All concerts except will take place at the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts center. • Twenty-five performing members of the Wednesday Club will be presented in five concerts during Artsfest, May 26-28. The concerts, in celebration of the Wednesday Club’s 130th birthday, will be held at the Art Association of Harrisburg, 21 N. Front St. The concert schedule includes two concerts at noon and 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 26; two concerts at 2 and 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 27; and one concert by young artist members at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 28. Albert Morrison, 91-year-old pianist and long time member, will present a concert of Gershwin and Cole Porter at the 4 p.m. concert on May 28.
