Perry D. Heath, 83, of Carlisle, died Monday, November 13, 2017 in his home.

Born on March 15, 1934 in Hallstead, PA, a son of the late Perry W. and Marion E. Bell Heath.

Perry graduated from North High School, Binghamton NY and attended the former Broome County Technical College, Binghamton, NY and the H.R. Stackhouse School of Fishery Conservation, Pleasant Gap, PA. He was the Conservation Officer of the PA Fish Commission, Cumberland County, retiring in 1992 after 30 years of service. In 1976, he was named the Conservation Officer of the Year by the Northeast (US) Conservation Law Enforcement Chiefs Association and served as Secretary of the Retired Conservation Officers Association

He attended First Presbyterian Church, Carlisle and was a member of Holy Way Presbyterian Church, Tucson AZ where he was a past Elder. Perry was a 50-year member of Cumberland Star Lodge #197, F&AM (now Carlisle Lodge #260) where he was Worshipful Master in 1974, a member of the Harrisburg Consistory and the SABBAR Shrine Temple in Tucson, AZ. He was a life member of the Carlisle Fish & Game Association, member of the Susquehanna Appalachian Trail Club and the NRA. Perry was a proud member of the Holly Grove Hunt Club, King William, VA.

Surviving is his wife of 40 years, Ruth E. Bowman Heath; a son, Perry P. (wife Susan) Heath, Carlisle; three daughters, Debra (husband Bill) Bowman, Wellsville, Valerie A. (husband Michael) Groetzinger, New Cumberland and Michele Suarez, Clearwater, FL; a sister, Maureen McDevitt, Binghamton, NY; seven grandchildren, Julia, Christina, David, Jennifer, Jessica, Ashleigh and Alex; and six great-grandchildren. Perry was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Heath, 1985 and a brother William Heath.

Services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 16, 2017 in the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, with the Rev. Anthony D. Lorenz officiating. There will be a Masonic Service performed at 9:45 am on Thursday prior to the funeral. Burial will be in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. There will be a visitation from 6:00—8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.

Arlene E. Kuhn, age 91, of Carlisle, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at the Claremont Nursing & Rahab Center, Carlisle.

She was born December 5, 1925 in Dillsburg to the late William and Mary (Wentz) Knaub and was the widow of Guy S. Kuhn.

Arlene showed her love of community and caring nature through her work with many organizations. She was a Den Mother for Cub Scout Troop 325. Arlene was a former President of: the North Middleton Township Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary; the Crestview PTA; and North Middleton Youth League Auxiliary. She was Trustee of the North Middleton Township Fire Company and a member of Waggoners United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and was especially proud of her roses.

She is survived by: three sons, William (wife Susan) Kuhn of FL, Ronald (wife Debra) Kuhn of Carlisle and Stephen (wife Crystal) Kuhn of Carlisle; a daughter, Deborah (husband Glenn W.) Wimer of Carlisle; a step-son, Eugene “Sonny” Kuhn of Carlisle; ten grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Arlene was preceded in death by her seven siblings, Paul, Woodrow, Glenn, Annamae, Viola, Arthur and Violet and a grandson, Craig.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Dr. Richard E. Dennison, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services.

Scott Heber Hamilton, 36, Carlisle, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017. He was born Thursday, April 9, 1981, son of Ronald P. and Linda L. (Hazlett) Hamilton of South Middleton Township.

Scott is a 2000 graduate of Boiling Springs High School and 2006 graduate of York Technical Institute with a certification in heating, air conditioning and refrigeration technology. He worked for B&W Inc. as an HVAC technician, Old Dominion Freight Lines and the White Circle Club.

He was a member of Union Fire Company No. 1, Carlisle United Methodist Church, formerly Grace United Methodist Church, and American Legion South Mountain Post 674 in Mount Holly Springs.

Scott, also known as “Cuff”, was a self-taught guitar player who loved to play various genres of music as well as write his own. He played in several local bands including Blinded, Gravy Skin Band, Evil Engine #9, Werevilsdare, Lugosis, and Didi Deluxe and the Dirty Devils.

In addition to his parents, Scott is survived by brothers, Eric A. Hamilton, Boiling Springs, and Brian R. (wife Stacey), Hamilton, Carlisle, nephew, Kyle B. Hamilton, Boiling Springs, paternal grandmother, Jeanne L. Hamilton, Carlisle and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be sadly missed by all including his cat Grayson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 18 at 11:00 AM at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 Trindle Rd., Carlisle. Pastor Beth Kempf will officiate. A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until services. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg.

Mary Ann Sambo, age 68, of Carlisle, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle Medical Center with her loving family by her side.

She was born July 3, 1949 in Taylor, MS to the late Charles E. and Lizzie M. (Huston) Carothers.

Mary Ann was a faithful member of Bibleway Hibner Memorial Church of God in Christ. She enjoyed walking and singing made her happy. But most of all, her loving family, including her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her sisters, Charlean and Sallie who were always by her side, made her the happiest.

She is survived by: a son, Alex D. Ivy of Carlisle; three daughters, Rose E. (husband James) Henderson of Carlisle, Mary L. (husband Charles) Carothers-Cope of Mechanicsburg and Pearlie M. (husband Kelly, Sr.) Rawls of Clayton, NC; two sisters, Charlean (husband Pastor Robert) Woodall of Carlisle and Sallie M. Moore of Abbeville, MS; two brothers, Willie D. (wife Francis) Carothers of Taylor, MS and Charles L. (wife Emma) Carothers of Carlisle; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by a sister, Maudie Piggie and three brothers, Charles Edward, Roland and Elwood Carothers.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Bibleway Hibner Memorial Church of God in Christ, 223 Walnut Street, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Robert L. Woodall officiating. Burial will follow at Letort Cemetery, Carlisle. There will be a viewing from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA and at the church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services.

Nancy R. Eads (née Seabaugh), age 79, of Carlisle PA, passed away in Penn State Hershey Medical Center on Monday, November 13, 2017.

She was born June 4, 1938 in Crystal City, Mo to the late Lee and Irene (Winkler) Seabaugh.

Nancy was a member of the Carlisle Elks, BPOE 578, Carlisle VFW #477 and the Mt. Holly Springs American Legion, Post #7343.

Nancy will be missed by: her husband of 57 years, James Eads; three children, Jeff (wife Tammy) Eads of Gardners, Christy (husband Art) Dunlop of Reading and Greg (wife Tricia) Eads of Spring City; six grandchildren, Jessica, Felicia, Brinlee, Matt, Tyler and Michael; great-granddaughter, Addison; and a sister, Marian Seabaugh of St. Louis. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, Stan Seabaugh.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Rd, Carlisle, PA from 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, November 15, 2017.
